family workshops
Helping families build practical skills, healthier homes, and lasting traditions—together.
Parents and children learning side by side through hands-on experiences designed to build confidence, healthier homes, and lasting family traditions.
more than a class.
a family experience.
Our workshops aren’t another drop-off class or lecture.
They’re an opportunity for families to slow down, work together, ask questions, make mistakes, create something with their hands, and build memories along the way.
Every workshop is intentionally limited in size so every family has the opportunity to participate, ask questions, connect with others, and learn together.
Whether you’re kneading bread, planting a garden, learning to preserve food, or building something with your hands, our hope is that you’ll leave with the confidence to continue at home—and with memories that make those skills worth passing on.

imagine a day with us…
You arrive on a crisp Friday morning.
Tea in hand.
Kids wandering toward the garden…
while someone introduces themselves over homemade muffins.
Chickens clucking in the background.
Families gathering around the table.
Learning something new.
Laughing when something doesn’t quite go as planned.
Creating something with your own hands.
Heading home with more than a finished project—
you leave with the confidence to do it again.
Your children leave inspired to create…
to build…
to contribute.
And years from now, maybe they’ll remember
that this was where it all began.
This is the kind of heritage we’re hoping to build—one family, one skill, and one shared experience at a time.

why family workshops?
Our grandparents learned these skills as part of everyday life.
Today, many of those opportunities have quietly disappeared.
Families are busier.
Neighbors know each other less.
Skills that were once passed naturally from one generation to the next are becoming increasingly rare.
We aren’t trying to turn back the clock.
We’re simply creating opportunities for families to slow down, learn together, and begin rebuilding those traditions—one experience at a time.

frequently asked questions
Absolutely! In fact, we hope you’ll do much more than stay—we want you learning, creating, and participating right alongside your children.
These aren’t drop-off classes where parents simply observe. They’re hands-on family experiences designed for everyone to learn together.
All ages are welcome!
The age appropriateness of each activity will naturally vary depending on the workshop. Some skills will be easy for little hands to participate in, while others may be better suited to older children, teens, or adults. Rather than setting strict age limits, we invite parents to decide what makes the most sense for their family and help younger children participate as they are able.
That’s intentional.
One of our values at A Homemade Heritage is multiple generations learning, working, and creating together. We believe children benefit from working alongside adults, younger children benefit from older siblings, adults have plenty to learn from one another, and grandparents have skills, stories, and experience worth passing down.
We don’t believe everyone has to be doing exactly the same thing, at exactly the same level, for an experience to be valuable.
Sometimes little ones will be right in the middle of the activity. Sometimes they’ll watch. Sometimes an older sibling may help them. And sometimes they’ll simply be along for the ride while Mom, Dad, or a grandparent learns something new.
That’s okay.
There’s value in simply growing up around people who are learning, making, growing, preserving, building, and working with their hands.
We also know that parents of young children are often excluded from opportunities they’d love to participate in because a class is designed for adults and children can’t come along.
We want Family Workshops to be different.
Bring your children.
Learn while they’re beside you.
Let them participate where they can.
Then take what you’ve learned home, practice it together, and continue teaching them as they grow.
Our goal isn’t to create separate experiences for every age group.
Our goal is to create a place where generations come together, learn from one another, and pass practical skills from one generation to the next.
Parents, children, grandparents, and other generations of your family are welcome. 🤎
Yes! Most workshops are designed for the whole family. We’ll include age recommendations for each workshop, but even when certain activities are better suited to older children, we’ll do our best to involve younger siblings in meaningful ways.
Our goal is for every member of the family to feel welcome and included.
Absolutely! One of our favorite things about these workshops is bringing generations together.
Grandparents are welcome to participate and learn alongside the rest of the family.
Colorado weather likes to keep us guessing!
Depending on the workshop, we’ll either adapt to the weather or move indoors.
We have indoor space available, and we’ll always do our best to make sure the experience is enjoyable regardless of the forecast.
No. While we love having dads, moms, grandparents, and other family members join us, both parents are not required to attend.
Our workshops are designed for families to learn together, so we simply ask that at least one parent or responsible adult attend and participate alongside the children.
Not at all! Whether you’re just getting started or have years of experience, our workshops are designed to meet you where you are.
Our hope is that everyone leaves with a little more confidence, a new skill, and the inspiration to continue learning at home.
Each registration covers your entire family, not each individual participant.
Material costs will vary depending on the workshop and will always be clearly listed before registration opens.
Most workshops won’t require anything beyond clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy and a willingness to learn!
If a workshop requires special supplies or containers to take projects home, we’ll let you know ahead of time.
We’re currently planning our very first season of Family Workshops.
Joining the interest list helps us determine which topics, days, and times families are most excited about.
As plans come together, everyone on the list will receive updates and early registration before workshops are announced publicly.
